Hi everyone!

I’m Brian – the new AmeriCorps member at HIP. Though I’m only a recent addition to the HIP team and to the city of Seattle, I can already say that I’m delighted to be a part of HIP and the city it serves.

I grew up in Corvallis, Oregon, so I’ve already had plenty of time to fall in love with the wonderful Pacific Northwest. I’m happy to be back in the area after four years of college just outside Chicago, where I studied environmental sciences and policy and helped run a bountiful campus garden.

When I’m not working in the world of food, I like to play in it too – in my free time you’ll find me gardening, cooking tasty meals, and tending to backyard chickens. I also love to play violin and guitar and explore the outdoors on long backpacking trips.
