Are you looking for a fun summertime volunteer activity? Well, look no further. HIP has you covered!

Throughout the summer we need volunteers to help us run our Summer Meal Program, which provides a free nutritious meal to youth and their parents. This program is very important to a lot of families who rely on Free and Reduced Price Lunch during the school year, as they are unable to access this service when school is not in session. Many families are left having to stretch their summer budgets to put food on the table. Having access to a free summer meals program takes some of that stress off.

We are excited that we will be able to expand our summer meals program this year, from five sites to seven. These sites are all in the Northeast Seattle/South Shoreline areas and will be open Monday-Friday starting June 27 until August 26.

As you can imagine, running our summer meals program requires a lot of coordination and work. It would never happen without the many people who donate their time and energy That is why we need your help this summer! We are currently looking for people who can help with food preparation, serving the meals, and leading kids in various activities.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Stephen at stephen@hungerintervention.org or 202-798-1255. Or you can fill out our volunteer application and he will contact you. We would love to have you with us this summer!
