Introducing New HIP Board Member: Kristen MacNaughtan

Kristen MacNaughtan is a Program Officer and the Nutritious Food Systems strategic lead on the Agricultural Development team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She designs and manages agricultural and food systems programs for improved nutrition, health, and women’s empowerment outcomes and works collaboratively to build teams to tackle complex multisectoral challenges. Prior to joining BMGF, Kristen worked in both the private and non-profit sectors. She holds a Masters of Science in International Development with a focus on Public Health and Nutrition from Tulane University. Kristen cares deeply about nutrition security as a fundamental building block for a productive life and is excited to join in HIP’s mission to serve communities in North King County for this cause.

Kristen and her partner have called Seattle home for 11 years and have two young kids who are Seattle natives. They love exploring the great outdoors and doing creative projects in the cozy indoors.
