HIP welcomed two new people to our team just this week! Toni Higgs is our newest staff joining as our Development Coordinator. Jennifer Sogn is our new AmeriCorps VISTA member filling in the spot that Emily left vacant. We are excited to welcome both of them to our team. They have already jumped into action during this turbulent time. Read more about them below.

Jennifer Sogn was born and raised in Seattle and is passionate about serving her community. She aspires to empower individuals and community members through education, outreach, and resources. She is excited to join HIP and contribute to their important mission.  In addition to her passion for serving her community she is also passionate about exploring the outdoors with her roommate and her dogs, traveling whenever she is given the opportunity, and cooking up new recipes.

Toni Higgs connects resources and people to missions that matter. She has worked on social justice and racial justice issues for nonprofits and her church as an advocate, manager and fundraiser. She recently received her Certificate in Fundraising Management from the University of Washington. She believes in the fundamental right of every person to experience food security. She celebrates the joy of gathering around food and cooks some mean meatballs and pesto pasta, as well as other meals, for her always hungry teens.  Toni is excited about working in development with HIP and can’t wait to share stories about the wonderful work they do.
