We’re Hiring: Senior Meals Dishwasher

Part-time (18 hours/week), hourly
Seatle, Washington

Position Summary

The Senior Meal Dishwasher will primarily focus on washing, drying, and putting away clean dishes from the daily dinner service. The dishwasher will also provide HIP’s Senior Meal Coordinator assistance by taking on a variety of tasks which may include boxing of meals for service, kitchen organization, daily janitorial assistance, and other small projects that support the meal. The schedule for this position is Mondays, Wednesday, and Friday, 9am – 3pm, with the potential for increased hours seasonally.

COVID-19 Statement

HIP follows all local and federal health and safety regulations with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. Being a food service provider, an essential service during the pandemic, this is an in-person position that requires interacting with community members. All needed PPEs are provided, and everyone must be fully vaccinated to work.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Washing, drying, and putting away dishes from the daily meal service
  • Assisting in the serving of dinner and organizing breakfast foods
  • Regular kitchen cleaning and organizational tasks
  • Working in a way that complies with local health and safety standards
  • Additional related duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Back of house kitchen experience is a plus
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance required
  • Attention to detail and a genuine desire to support the meal program
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds including program participants, staff, and volunteers

Requirements

  • Comfortable lifting up to 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • Comfortable reaching, bending, standing, and/or kneeling repeatedly
  • Willing to learn and comply with food safety and sanitation rules
  • Pass the Washington State Patrol background check (paid for by employer)
  • Have or obtain a current Washington State Food Worker Card (paid for by employer)

Compensation

This is a part time, hourly position that pays $18/hour. Additionally, HIP provides a benefits package that includes:
