Become a Board Member
Share your passion for food justice, your lived experience, and your expertise to provide strategic leadership to HIPHIP is looking for community members who are passionate about ending hunger to join its Board of Directors. The Board of Directors helps strategically guide the organization to fulfill its mission and achieve its goal of food security for all in North Seattle. As a board member, you will have the opportunity to contribute to HIP’s impact, develop your leadership skills, and learn important ways to end hunger at a systemic level.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF BOARD MEMBERS?
Board members participate in three-year terms and are expected to:
- Attend and participate in monthly board meetings;
- Serve on a board subcommittee; and
- Make a personally significant annual financial contribution to the organization

HOW DO I JOIN?
- Meet us! Connect with our Co-Executive Director, board members, and/or a board chair and maybe stop by for a tour or a volunteer shift.
- Fill out an application and pick a subcommittee to join.
- Join a subcommittee for three months and participate in meetings to get to know the board.
After three months, you will be invited to join the board and the board will vote you in as a member.
