Volunteers needed for expanding Senior Meals Program

Volunteers in HIP Kitchen preparing meals and having fun!

We are very excited to expand our senior meal program, but we can’t do it alone. We need a lot of volunteers to fill a variety of positions to provide more hot, nutritious meals to north Seattle seniors. We need volunteers to prepare food in the kitchen, set up tables and chairs, serve the meal, and clean up after the meal. We are also looking for greeters, coffee makers, translators, tablecloth washers, dishwashers, and more!

If none of these volunteering opportunities are right for you, please forward these opportunities to a friend or neighbor who might be. It truly needs a community to serve a community meal! And don’t forget that every volunteer shift includes a delicious, made-from-scratch lunch as a small token of our gratitude.

Prep Cooks

What: Join us in the HIP kitchen to cook an ever-changing variety of foods. All cooking skill levels are welcome.

When: Fridays from 9am-noon (we also cook on Mondays and Wednesdays, but Fridays is the greatest need)

Where: the HIP kitchen – 3841 NE 123rd St

Set up & Server

What: We pride ourselves on providing a full-service, sit down lunch… but that requires a little set up. Help us turn an empty room into a welcoming dining hall and then help serve the meal.

When: Fridays from 10am – 1pm (we also serve on Mondays and Wednesdays, but Fridays is the greatest need)

Where: the Lake City Community Center – 12531 28th Ave NE

Server & Break Down

What: Be a part of a welcoming space by helping us serve a meal and then break down the meal and leave the community center cleaner than we found it.

When: Fridays from noon – 2pm (we also serve on Mondays and Wednesdays, but Fridays is the greatest need)
