We are excited to welcome two new board members to the HIP family!
Rubina Goswami
Rubina Goswami works at the Boeing Company as an Industrial Engineering Manager with a 9+ years of leadership experience in various fields. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration/ finance and a master’s in business administration/finance. Rubina is passionate about helping others and giving back to the community. She is excited to be a part of this incredible cause of increasing food security in the local community. There is a need to address the dual burden of malnourishment and obesity to ensure full human potential by making people aware of the nutrient contents and effect of convenient food.
Rubina recently became a parent to a beautiful daughter. She loves spending time with her daughter and husband and also enjoys being outdoors.
Phoenica Zhang
Phoenica may be one of our newest board members, but having been one of our previous AmeriCorps members, she is not new to HIP! By way of Arizona and then North Carolina, she currently comes to us from a local partner agency, Solid Ground, where she helps to supervise youth nutrition education programming. Phoenica holds a degree in Environmental Science from Duke University, and has been engaging in the public sector since graduating in 2015. She is an advocate for approaching nutrition education and anti-hunger work with understandings of racial and social oppressions, and is a firm believer in food as a tool to uplift and unite communities.
Phoenica loves crunchy peanut butter, climbing rocks, and filling her spaces with plants. She is so excited to be a part of the HIP team, again!
