Big change is possible when we work together

Linda serving lunch in downtown Seattle

How far we have come! I am amazed by the work HIP does today in the community. When my friend Rhoda Morrow and I started this organization more than two decades back, we were serving sandwiches in downtown Seattle for those without access to healthy meals. Our volunteers were dedicated and often reached into their own retirement income to help cover the costs for supplies to make those meals. Our volunteers remain committed today as we have transitioned in north Seattle and surrounding areas and significantly expanded our programs. I’m proud of all the things we have been able to achieve together, especially the multi-cultural programming we are known for.

I’m grateful to our early supporters who helped launch this program and to all of you for keeping this program going. None of this work would be possible without your support. I’m asking you to support HIP during this year’s GiveBIG campaign.

I like where we are going. We think big and continue to expand our operations to meet hunger wherever we encounter it. I ask you join me in giving big this year so that together we can end hunger in our communities.

Thank you for your support!
